He scored blistering 148 against Pakistan at Vizag and also scored sublime 183* in that famous run chase vs Sri Lanka at Sawai Mansinh Stadium, Jaipur. He used to play some aggressive shots with so much power that people actually started believing that 5-litre milk a day is the secret of his energy. However, Dhoni has never confirmed or admitted this publicly. 2.  Ponting had inserted spring in the bat in 2003 world cup final: Ricky Ponting scored 140* in 2003 world cup final Another one for those 90s born people. How the speed of the ball is measured? & How do the LED stumps work?

Image
Some of the fastest bowlers in the world   As we all know cricket is a game of pace. Faster the bowler bowls, more lethal he is considered. In live cricket matches we see the speed/pace of the ball is shown on our screen immediately after bowler completes the delivery of the ball. There are some technologies used to determine the speed of the ball: 1. Speed gun: General mounting of speed gun There is a speed gun mounted on a pole near the sight screen right near the boundary line. It works on the principle of "Doppler Effect". It is similar to measure the speed of a moving car. Now, to measure the speed of the ball it has two components: Transmitter & receiver. Transmitter sends the radio signals toward the pitch which records the movements and receiver calculates the speed of any object near the pitch.  The speed recorded by speed gun is inserted into image processing software. This software identifies the ball among other objects and shows its speed on the display. 22/0

Image
Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were involved in heated arguments on few occasions   We have seen cricketers getting involved in heated arguments and exchanging few words with opposition players and sometimes with their teammates as well.  Cricket is a team sport and each player plays his/her part to try and contribute for their team's victory. In trying to do so, the player gets aggressive and try to dominate the opposition players. There are quite a few occassions where players were involved in ugly fights and arguments and umpires or fellow teammates had to intervene. One such incidence happened during last night after the completion of RCB vs LSG match. Pictures suggested that Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were involved in an aggressive argument for some reason. Well, these two have a history between them from IPL 2013 where Gambhir gave an ugly send-off to Kohli when latter was dismissed. Rajat Bhatia had to intervene at that time and calm down the situation. Gambhir silencing

India's performance in SENA (SA, Eng, NZ, Aus) since 2000

Image
India won their 3rd Test series in England in the history under Rahul Dravid's captaincy. There are a lot of criteria in cricket, according to which any team’s performance is determined. When teams travel abroad to play test cricket with the host countries, then they are said to have playing “Away test series”, which means away from home. They need to get used to the conditions very quickly and adapt to the situations to perform well. These away performances are rated higher rather than home performances for any team as it is very tough to perform overseas and win series there because the host countries have a lot of advantages of home conditions. When India travel to SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia), they need to be very tough as there are different sort of pitch conditions and weather conditions as to that of in Asia. In all these countries, the climate is very cold mostly in the whole year, barring two or three months which they call Summer. India travel to
